MDH Breathing Co-ordination

MDH is the cornerstone of how I view vocal technique. I found this pedagogy after 8.5 years of searching and it simply helps restore the breathing and singing mechanism to its natural workings so that the voice can come out more freely.

It is built on the work of Carl Stough, a once renowned choir leader who also successfully rehabilitated hospitalised patients with severe respiratory disorders (so you know that his breathing work is good ;) ). It is not just for singing, it is for life.

MDH informs my physiological perspective of how we breathe, how the voice is formed and how to create acoustic spaces in the mouth so that we sing with the greatest ease and best sound possible.

Once again: free body = free voice.

MDH forms a deeper, more intricate and specific framework that I then use to inform my other somatic work.

This method made my emotional/spiritual/somatic work exponentially more powerful when I found it. And of course, it improved my singing!
